Several researchers, including Andrew Weil and Lance Christie, have suggested that the occasional incidence of gynecomastia among male smokers, as well as the occasional lowering of sperm counts, may be a result of a similarity between THC and the female hormone estradiol. In the metabolism of certain men, THC might actually be mistaken for estradiol, resulting in a certain falling off of biological masculinity. (back)
